Amazing Sculptures

While looking on Pinterest, I found this website which has “42 of the most amazing sculptures in the world”. When looking though all these sculptures, I choose the ones that had stuck out to me. however, here is the link to that website if you what to check out the other amazing sculptures:

Ocean Atlas: Massive Underwater Statue Of Girl Carrying The Ocean On Her Shoulders

I feel that this is so amazing, from the actually sculpture itself to the surroundings. The well place sculpture for the female actually holding the sea on her shoulders, this is such a powerful piece of art. The female statue seems to be struggling beneath the weight of the waves, although she remains poised and beautiful at the same time–just as we all must do in our everyday life, even when things feel too heavy to handle.

The material used for this piece can be compared to the cement used to build Roman Bridges, which still remain some of the oldest remaining architecture. This is not the first underwater statue that Jason deCaires Taylor. Jason deCaires Taylor statues had to be made to withstand the test of time because coral reefs take hundreds of years to develop.

Expansion By Paige Bradley, New York, Usa

This piece stuck out to me because of the light striking through the person, finding their inner light. The person is in a calming yoga pose, the image of a woman meditating in the lotus position. The artist is made a perfect wax sculpture, then she drooped it on the floor then started to create the pieces in bronze putting the pieces back together. She then put a light within the sculpture.

She says “the world tends to have a box already built for us to fit inside. Our umbilical cord never seems to be severed; we only find new needs to fill. If we disconnected and severed our attachments, would we shatter our confinements and expand beyond our shell? Would the world look different? Would we recognise ourselves? Are we the box that we are inside, and to be authentically ‘un-contained’ would we still be able to exist? This is the irony of containment. As long as we don’t push on the walls of our surroundings, we may never know how strong we really are.”

Dramatic Fairy Sculpture Dancing With Dandelion By Robin Wight, Uk

This caught my eye, because of the movement within the piece, it seems that women are in a rush and wanting to run away. This is not the first piece of art he has done this is with a series, of another fairy’s and dandelion. Robin Wight puts a stone heart within the fairy, which sometimes has a message that in engraved into the stone. The fairy sculpture seems very delicate however he has used thick wires to wraps around making the body of the fairy. The second image seems to have a sense of freedom, calmness and pure joy

Inner Children Trapped Inside Adult Bodies By Alexander Milov

This is an emotional piece that relates to most people. Everyone is always trying to re connect with inner child. This is a sad, but I think that everyone should look and try and understand the piece of art, because I feel that more people need to look inside themselves and re connect with their inner child. This is because of the stress and drama within today's life’s we as adults need time to be a child again, be free of obligations and just have fun. This also seems to be romantic, with the couple wanting to be closer to each other, giving each other their vulnerable sides and trying to connect.

The artist says “It demonstrates a conflict between a man and a woman as well as the outer and inner expression of human nature. Their inner selves are executed in the form of transparent children, who are holding out their hands through the grating. As it’s getting dark (night falls) the children start to shine. This shining is a symbol of purity and sincerity that brings people together and gives a chance of making up when the dark time arrives.”

Mustangs By Robert Glen, Las Colinas, Texas, Usa

Black Ghost, Klaipeda, Lithuania

De Vaartkapoen, Brussels, Belgium

A Scene From The World War With Real-size Statues, Eceabat, Turkey

The Little Mermaid Statue

This statue was not within the list of amazing statues and I understand why however I really like this statue. The little mermaid statue, this is in Denmark, which was create in 1913, by Edvard Eriksen. It was inspired by a ballet performance from the story by Hans Christian Andersen. The statue has had its 100th year anniversary on August 23, 2013.

The statue has been vandalised many times, such having paint thrown on her (twice, red and blue), her arm sawed off as well as her head, these have all been done for political reasons or an act of rebellion.

The Little Mermaid statue sits close to the shore of the cruise harbor "Langelinie" on her granite resting place, in the old port district of Nyhavn.

About Me

My name is Jade, and I grew up within a big family. I'm like Nanny McPhee, always looking after my younger siblings, which I love but get no free time. If you watch my videos you will hear about them. My Main interest is Art, but Anime is a very close second, that is why I like to sprinkle it within my art. I love doing art with my hands, traditional but I also do digital art and I'm always learning new ways and techniques each day with both art styles.

Fun Fact about me, I have a Graphic Art Design Degree which is why you will find my graphics work here. (and if you got this far… I had to use a “How to write about yourself” template for this because I didn't know where or what to start with.)

Have a Wonderful day filled with Creativtly and BYE!!
