Colour Theory, starts with the colour wheel. The first person to create the colour wheel was Sir Isaac Newton, in 1666. The colour wheel starts with the primary colours, which are Red, Yellow and Blue. The in between each primary colour, there are secondary colours, these are Green, Orange and Purple. These are created by mixing two primary colours together. There are also Tertiary Colours, that are created by mixing a primary colour and a secondary colour, these colours are: Yellow-Orange, Red-Orange, Red-Purple, Blue-Purple, Blue-Green and Yellow-Green.
Within Colour Theory, there is also colour Harmony. Colour Harmony is a “pleasing arrangement”, something that pleases the eye and engages the viewer. When something has no harmony, this can be seen as boring and chaotic. However if everything matches and mixes well together, it makes the experience for the viewer well.
