Gabriel Dawe Rainbow

This was the image that first caught my eye on Pinterest, The illusion fooled me, which made me want to look into the art work even more. I find his work amazing, which looks so real. The pieces of thread that merge together look so beautiful, from every angle.

Gabriel Dawe is an artist who creates an optical illusion. He creates indoor rainbows that are absolutely beautiful. The art work is created by different colour threads, that create a lovely pattern that mirage together to create a rainbow.

The threaded optical illusion is within a series called "Plexus", which is a word for interlacing network of blood vessels and nerves. He called the series this because:

“it refers to the connection of the body with its environment, but it also relates directly to the intricate network of threads forming the installation itself, and to the inherent tension in the thread, vibrating with an almost tangible luminosity.”
